The Predator Connection
My first thought is that, do any of the Predator films link up with this series at all outside of comics and video games (Excluding those films that no-one cares about)? The most clear evidence is the skull in the trophy room seen in Predator 2 but was said to be an Easter egg or inside joke by Stan Winston, but to be honest it's more of a make up your own mind about that, you can link it with the Alien films or not, it doesn't ruin the series at all in my opinion.

The Doctor Who Connection
Believe it or not, I have seen some similarities or weird coincidences between the Alien films and Doctor Who, specifically the Claws of Axos, first off Axos is a parasitic organism just like the Alien, a character called Mr. Chinn has similar intentions to Bishop Weyland in Alien 3, this one is most likely coincidence but the main character in Prometheus is called Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and in season 7 of Doctor Who, the main companion is called Dr. Elizabeth Shaw. If Ridley Scott stayed in his position when he was working at the BBC, he would have been a designer in Doctor Who apparently so all this is in speculation.
